Server
Server and project settings
You can find information about your GridVis instance and the associated main project in the server and project settings. The information includes:
Server name: The server name describes the GridVis service that is currently open. The server name is not fixed and can be changed at any time.
Base URL of the GridVis server: The base URL specifies the address at which GridVis Web can be accessed. The base URL can also be taken from the browser address bar automatically using a button.
Main project: The system requires a defined main project . Please note that there can always be only one active main project. The main project includes the user database, dashboards and templates, unless otherwise configured.
Server time zone: The time zone corresponds to the server's system time. Contact your server administrator to change the time zone.
Clicking on the pencil icon allows you to change the server name, the base URL and the main project.
Proxy settings
You can set a proxy server for your connection in the Proxy settings area. A proxy server acts as a firewall and filter in your network. Instead of connecting directly to a server, the request is routed from the client via the proxy server, which can filter and modify it before it is forwarded to the actual server. You have the option of choosing between an HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS proxy.
HTTP proxy: These proxy servers are for the purpose of forwarding HTTP requests. They are best suited for browsers and programs that are based on the TCP protocol.
HTTPS proxy: These proxy servers are also for the purpose of forwarding HTTP requests. In this case, the requests are additionally encrypted with an SSL protocol.
SOCKS proxy: These proxy servers can use any type of protocol. A SOCKS proxy is recommended for programs that do not directly support the use of proxies .
Proceed as follows to configure a proxy:
Click on the pencil icon at the top right of the proxy settings.
Change the slider to Proxy activated.
Enter the address and port of the proxy.
Optionally, enter the host for which no proxy is to be used.
Enter the user name and the corresponding password with which GridVis can log in to the proxy.
Test the connection by clicking the Test proxy button.
If you have not entered any login information, only the connection to the proxy is checked.
If you have entered the login information, the connection and the login will be checked.
Finally, click the Save button.
Devices
You can assign the management of your devices to GridVis Web. If you assign your devices to GridVis Web, it will query the devices of all projects added to GridVis Web.
