Virtual Device - Description

Description

You assign to a virtual device measurement values from real devices, e.g. in order to carry out calculations or make connections. You configure your virtual device intuitively via the graphical programming interface (Jasic) in the GridVis software so that it can subsequently be used e.g. in graph or topology views.

The function Virtual Deviceb offers you support for the following tasks:

  • Mathematical calculations, e.g. summarizing several areas by adding the measuring sites / measuring devices for cost center management.

  • calculating key performance indicators, e.g. for evaluating energy efficiency in computer centers. In what relation is e.g. the energy consumption in the computer center to the energy consumption of all computers (PUE, power usage effectiveness).

  • Calculations with operators, such as addition, division, subtraction, multiplication in calculating current and historical measurement values.

  • Mathematical calculations can only be carried out with the same measurement units and the same time references (e.g. only rel. real energy and not rel. real energy and real energy).

  • Listing of percentage values based on numeric constants.

  • Does not store additional measurement values in the database.

  • Calculations are performed analogously to the run time of the computing processes of GridVis and the source data from the devices are used for the graphical visualization.

  • Calculation of non-electric media via various target data points (e.g. ProData data collector).

  • Integrate devices from other manufacturers via the generic Modbus option (an integration test may be required).

  • Optional: Virtual measurement devices process measurement values from the global variables of the measuring devices.
