Note

  • You need a Janitza ID for offline licensing (see Logging in to Janitza ID ).

  • If the system on which you are running the GridVis does not have Internet access and you are using the GridVis Desktop, license your project offline. To do this, you need a way to upload the request file to your Janitza ID and download the license file generated there.

  • If you use the GridVis service without Internet access, but the browser used on your system has Internet access, you can also license your project in the GridVis Web offline using a web client (see Licensing with a web client ).

Offline licensing

Offline licensing is performed in several steps:

  1. Commissioning wit a commissioning code
With the commissioning code you can immediately start setting up and commissioning your project. Licensing of the project can be done afterwards within 30 days.

  2. Licensing via request file and license file
To be able to use a project permanently, you must license it. This is done via a request file and a license file.

Updating the offline license

Under certain circumstances, the offline licensing of your project must be repeated if there are changes to your project or your license. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Extending a license with an item package

  • Extending an update period

Note

Exceeding the licensed number of items
You must extend your license and update the offline licensing if you add items to your project and thereby exceed the number of licensed items by a certain percentage. After this exceedance, the GridVis is only fully usable for a limited period of time.
